I swear we just got back from the Imaging USA Conference in Nashville and now we are already planning our October San Diego workshop! The October workshop will be the LAST one for 2010, so if you have been thinking about attending one, we still have spots left! Here is a basic outline on how our boudoir workshop is structured.

If you want to hear from an actual attendee, check out this awesome blog post from Denise Birdsong, a June San Diego attendee, about her experience at our workshop: You can click the image below to be taken to Denise’s Blog, and yes those are her beautiful images taken at our workshop!

So, here I am again, convinced that this IS exactly where I am supposed to be. As I have stated previously on this blog, it is a little scary, a whole lot of exciting and nothing short of AMAZING! I have to say though, that today It is a lot less scary than it was six months ago when I decided to jump into this head first………

I have been provided with some incredible opportunities and situations (not all pleasant) to learn, to grow and to flourish from, I am grateful for them all!

One of these amazing experiences was a recent workshop I attended with the Boudoir Divas in San Diego. I simply can’t say enough great things about the team at The Divas, the experience I had and how HIGHLY I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in photographing women.

Over the last year I have attended many workshops, each time hoping this would be the workshop that empowered me, provided me with useful and meaningful information that would help me become my personal best, to provide my clients with an incredible experience and product and to run a successful business. Ok, so I suppose that may have been asking a little much for one workshop BUT Marrisa and Kimmberlee (the Divas )totally DELIVERED! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Marissa and Kimberlee (The Divas) were so genuine and honest in sharing their experience in the industry, what has worked for them and more importantly what has not and why. I must say, their willingness to open up and share the good, the bad and sometime the not so pretty was invaluable for me! It seems it is just what I had been looking for….. This willingness to share their experiences and answer, very thoughtfully, the questions I came up with led me to allot of introspection and in my opinion introspection is the true hallmark of any great learning experience! I left the Divas workshop more carefully considering my business plan, where I want my business to be in five years and what I am prepared to do to get there…..

During our workshop we covered topics including, posing, lighting, equipment, sales, marketing, workflow, pricing, best business practice and to top it all off we were able to shoot in groups as well as one on one with four gorgeous models (they were amazing, huge round of applause for these gals!)

Thank you again Marissa and Kimberlee for the incredible opportunity and experience, I feel so secure in the knowledge that this is where I want to be, where I should be and where I am going…..

And so this journey continues…empowering woman kind, one cheeky girl at a time !

Oh yeah, did I mention the amazing gals I got to photograph? Enjoy!

If you have questions about our workshop, feel free to email Ashley at info@theboudoirdivas.com. You can sign up for the workshop by going to our Boudoir Shop.

We get so many people inquiring about when it will be available, and we have quite a few books that are a little bit “damaged”. What do we mean when we say damaged? Basically, they aren’t perfect so we wouldn’t want to sell them to anyone at full price.
If you follow our blog, then you are probably aware the only time we normally sell the book is at trade shows and speaking engagements. So the books travel with us everywhere and because of this the cover pages will get a little bit scratched or bent and we end up tossing those aside as “damaged”. We figured, why not offer these at a discounted rate to those who have been waiting for the book and may not care if a couple pages are bent or scratched!

So here is a great way to get our Workshop in a Book at the LOWEST rate we will ever offer it! This book normally sells for $245 + shipping, but we are going to offer it for $175 + shipping ($8 domestic and $25 international)!! The sale will last until we get rid of all of our damaged books.

Ready to purchase!? Want more details on the book? Head on over to our Boudoir Shop.

Your clients are wearing next to nothing and have the expectation of a gorgeous (and basically flawless) photo. Every woman is beautiful in her own way, and with that said, every woman is different! Finding the right poses and angels to flatter each body type is time consuming and we know because it took us years of trial and error until we had a solid portfolio of great poses for every type of body.

Because of our own experience finding these poses, we created The Posebook to add to our Boudoir Shop which is filled with resources for photographers looking to get into the boudoir photography business or just want to take their already successful business to the next level. This book is FILLED with 28 of our most popular poses, with variations in each pose. It shows which poses are most flattering on each body type and how to get the best angels. In addition to receiving the beautiful book, you also receive a DVD with a 20 minute video of Kimberlee and Marissa showing you exactly how to get your clients in these poses, using an actual client!

We love hearing back from photographers who have purchased this book (and other resources) about their personal experience using the Posebook and it is always the best to receive a letter like the one below! Thanks so much for taking the time to write us Birgit and we are so glad you love the book. :)

“I lOVE THE POSEBOOK!
I have been in the photography business for almost 5 years. Weddings, families, babies. So great I love it!
But I wanted to bring it to another level, I attended a seminar a couple months ago, it said that you have to offer something others don’t.
Had a lot of ideas, and tried them out, but I wanted more. But what ????

I get a lot of inspiration from other websites, and by coincidence I found … yours!
By then I knew it, this is what I wanted to do.
I was amazed by the beautiful pictures. So pretty, so glamorous, so stylish, but sexy too.
Haven’t seen something like that before. So I knew this was something I could do to be different!

For a couple of weeks I have been looking at the website and doing some research. Showing the websites to friends, and wanted to know what they think.
A lot of people got really excited with me, and some girl friends said they wanted to pose for me.
And although I thought the posebook in the beginning an expensive purchase, I had to have it.

And I am soooo glad I bought it.
My friend Addie was the first one.
We had a fun weekend out, shopping and dining, and stayed at a nice hotel.
A good opportunity to try it out.
After a glass of champagne we started it WITH THE BOOK!
It was so much fun. And the pictures came out great.
Addie was so happy with it, her reaction was just what I wanted!
Even I tried it out and we turned places, I was the model, and Addie made the pictures.
I am not that confident with my body, but wow I loved it, although Addie wasn’t that great with my camera, hehe.

4 more shoots are planned with friends. After some practice I definitely want to offer this to others.
So thank you , thank you , thank you for sharing your poses, ideas and pictures.

Groetjes from Holland!

Met vriendelijke groet,
Birgit de Jong”
